Sometimes blogs are just good.
And this is one. Not just because I'm a huge fan of her father, but because this is treated as a true journal and it's crafted with care. I've read many of these posts several times already. SARA GENN ~ THE LITTLE, LINED NOTEBOOK

Old but cool
Here's one of those optical illusionist pieces of art. I'm sure you've seen this before but I just don't get tired of looking at it. (click thumbnail for larger version). You're supposed to focus on the center, then move your head back-and-forth (close to and away from the monitor). See what happens!

Puccini notes
Read about the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini (La Bohéme, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, etc...) at Painter's Keys!
John Lautner, architect
A Frank Lloyd Wright protégé, John Lautner designed some of the most outrageous (and coolest!) houses ever seen. One of which is the Chemosphere (modernist octagon design) which was seen in the movie Body Double as well as in the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Lautner died in 1994. The Hammer Museum in L.A. is currently featuring him in an EXHIBIT which ends October 12.
BioTech art
Makes for interesting reading. Maybe some cool images. But what else? I don't have a problem with the marriage of art and technology, or technology AS art. Some things for me, just fall into the category of "it is what it is." Maybe THAT's it? ARTS JOURNAL ARTICLE HERE

For Andy Warholics!
Have you tried this?
Etsy. It's a place where artists and craftspeople can sell their wares. Also, seems to be a nice place to find an unusual and creative gift. I haven't tried it. I'm thinking about it, possibly to sell smaller paintings, or painted pieces. Let me know if you've had success with it. ETSY

Pencil talk
I spend a lot of time with pencils. I certainly have my favorites. Lately it's the Black Mirado Warrior, by Sanford. It's not one of the pricier pencils. Certainly easy enough to find. A premium round, 100% cedar pencil with a black matte finish. Feels good in your hand, sharpens well. Also, here's a cool blog on pencils: Pencil Talk. They thought it was OK too, not their favorite, but one of mine.
