Venice's Accademia Bridge

To be remade again? In 1488 it was an idea. The bridge wasn't actually built until 1854! That steel structure was torn down and replaced by a wooden bridge in the 1930s. In 1985 THAT bridge was replaced by the present bridge (built to match identically). And now...they're thinking of re-doing it.

ARTICLE on redesign announcement

I think they need to take some tips from the Romans. The Ponte Fabricio (Pons Fabricius) bridge was built in 62 B.C. and stands today in its original state.
