Best pavement art ever!

Go see Julian Beever's work HERE! Pavement art, old masters copies, anamorphic illusions. Unbelievable.

Another illusion!

I don't know if this one makes me dizzy or not. I'm going to post these illusion files every now and then. I don't really get tired of looking at them!

Mural art

Wow! Doesn't that scene look real? It's a mural! By John Pugh. Here is his website!

Pilobolus

Glass art

I had the chance to see these two brothers in action. Great stuff, the website is a little cumbersome to navigate through, but you can get a good feel for their work. de la Torre brothers

Crazy Amazing Art

It is crazy. Ljudbilden & Piloten, Swedish artists.

They capture their drawings and animate them with stop-motion video.

Old but cool

Here's one of those optical illusionist pieces of art. I'm sure you've seen this before but I just don't get tired of looking at it. (click thumbnail for larger version). You're supposed to focus on the center, then move your head back-and-forth (close to and away from the monitor). See what happens!

Doodles

Different. Fun to look at!

Virtual tour!

Alexander Calder virtual tour at the National Gallery.

Puccini notes

Read about the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini (La Bohéme, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, etc...) at Painter's Keys!

John Lautner, architect

A Frank Lloyd Wright protégé, John Lautner designed some of the most outrageous (and coolest!) houses ever seen. One of which is the Chemosphere (modernist octagon design) which was seen in the movie Body Double as well as in the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Lautner died in 1994. The Hammer Museum in L.A. is currently featuring him in an EXHIBIT which ends October 12.

BioTech art

Makes for interesting reading. Maybe some cool images. But what else? I don't have a problem with the marriage of art and technology, or technology AS art. Some things for me, just fall into the category of "it is what it is." Maybe THAT's it? ARTS JOURNAL ARTICLE HERE

Get your Warhol on! Here you go:

• The Warhol Museum (Pittsburgh, PA)
• Andy Warhol biography

Have you tried this?

Etsy. It's a place where artists and craftspeople can sell their wares. Also, seems to be a nice place to find an unusual and creative gift. I haven't tried it. I'm thinking about it, possibly to sell smaller paintings, or painted pieces. Let me know if you've had success with it. ETSY

Art Supplies!

Cool easel sale going on now. Never a bad place to visit, Utrecht has been one of my favorites for a while. In Seattle their address is: 1124 PIke Street or here at Google Maps
